Most catering shortlists in Dhaka are built from recommendations and a phone call. This page puts Dhaka's established caterers side by side on the two facts that are hardest to get over the phone and easiest to check in public: whether the prices are published, and whether there is a guest minimum. Every row is drawn from public sources, checked August 2026.
What catering costs in Dhaka
Among Dhaka caterers that publish prices, standard event and dawat set menus are listed at roughly BDT 150 to 500 per head, and premium and wedding menus at BDT 500 to 1,500. Most caterers publish no prices at all. Published guest minimums range from 5 to 15 or more. Based on publicly listed prices, checked August 2026. Alpha publishes every price on its menu, and its set platters run BDT 350 to 925 per head from 20 guests. A menu order carries no guest minimum.

Six questions to ask any of them
Most catering decisions in Dhaka are made from a phone call and a forwarded photo album. That is enough to find someone who can cook. It is not enough to find someone who will still be standing at 8pm with 80 guests waiting. These six questions take about ten minutes and separate an operation from a phone number.
